Storm Over the Sûre
The Drowned Valley
The Haute-Sûre reservoir was created in 1960 when the Sûre was dammed at Insenborn. The valley floor — farms, a village, two hamlets — lies fifteen metres below this surface. The curved shoreline you see here follows the old river's path exactly.
